Riding the Waves.
Cultivating resilience through emotional agility.
Life is a journey filled with unexpected twists and turns. While we cannot always control what happens to us, we can manage how we respond.
This is where emotional agility comes in — a powerful skill that enhances our resilience and equips us to navigate challenges with grace and adaptability.
What Is Emotional Agility?
Coined by psychologist Dr. Susan David, emotional agility refers to our ability to experience emotions in a way that is both mindful and constructive. It’s about neither suppressing emotions nor being overwhelmed by them but rather acknowledging them, understanding their messages, and responding in a way that aligns with our values and long-term well-being.
Resilience is our capacity to bounce back from adversity.
Emotional agility plays a crucial role in fostering resilience by helping us develop healthier relationships with our emotions, rather than being at their mercy. Here are the skills we’ll be exploring in this workshop:
Acknowledging our emotions without judgment
Avoiding emotional rigidity
Creating psychological distance
Acting in alignment with our core values
Fostering self compassion
Emotional agility is not about ignoring or suppressing emotions—it’s about embracing them with wisdom. By cultivating this skill, we can build resilience, handle life’s ups and downs with greater ease, and ultimately lead more fulfilling and authentic lives.
In a world that often feels unpredictable, emotional agility is the key to maintaining balance, perspective, and inner strength. Let’s get resilient with the herd at Liberty Lane Stables.

WHY HORSES?
Horses are powerful teachers. They help us see ourselves more clearly and show us how we can be better humans.
Horses are highly perceptive and they are always honest. As prey and herd animals, horses are acutely aware of our emotional, mental and energetic states. They naturally perceive this information and immediately reflect it back to us, helping us to see ourselves more clearly.
Horses are unbiased and non-judgmental. Horses see and accept us exactly as we are, without judgment or bias. They challenge us to step up in a non-threatening way.
Horses live in the present moment. Unlike humans, who are easily distracted by their own thoughts and emotions horses live in the moment and can be with us 100%. They are excellent listeners.
And yes, you CAN do this. All activities with the horses during this workshop will be practiced on the ground. No riding or horse experience is necessary to benefit from this transformative experience.
